Just when you thought Saquon Barkley had it all, he just got a little bit more. He’s ranked at No. 1 on Mel Kiper’s Big Board. He celebrated his 21st birthday with an endorsement deal with Nike. And now there’s a whole day dedicated to celebrating him in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The Pennsylvania House of Representatives has passed a resolution declaring March 14 ‘Saquon Barkley Day’ in the Keystone State. The Penn State standout who declared for NFL Draft in December following his junior season will be in Harrisburg with lawmakers to be recognized on that day, according to the Allentown Morning Call.

Rep. Jeanne McNeill, a Lehigh Valley Democrat who represents Barkley’s hometown of Coplay, sponsored the resolution. Barkley and his family members will participate in a parade in his hometown on March 24, according to the Morning Call. Band members from his high school and youth football players from his hometown will be involved in the parade.

McNeill called Barkley “a shining star of Coplay and Whitehall” and said that, as a likely top-five pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, Barkley may not be hanging around in the area much in the future. “Once he gets drafted,” she said, “we might not see too much of him.”

Prior to Saquon Barkley Day and the parade, the record-setting running back will be taking part in the NFL Draft Combine, Feb. 27 through March 2 in Orlando, Fla.
