A State College bicyclist will be charged with driving under the influence after he crashed his bike early Saturday, borough police said Monday.
Police said it happened at 4:49 a.m. at West Hamilton Avenue and Westerly Parkway, near Holmes-Foster Park. An officer observed the bicyclist crash into a curb there, according to a police report.
The bicyclist was taken for a blood test, and a DUI charge will be filed via court summons, police said.
Because the charge had not been finalized Monday, the bicyclist’s name was not immediately available. There was no immediate word whether he was hurt, either.
Including the bicycle case, police Lt. Chris Fishel said, State College police logged seven DUI incidents over the weekend.
