State police on Tuesday arrested a Centre County man accused of possessing and sharing child pornography.
Hunter K. L. Henney, 22, of Walker Township, distributed images and video depicting child sexual abuse on two social media platforms, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
Acting on information provided by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the state police Computer Crime Unit investigated three images of exposed children uploaded to Snapchat and Instagram in August 2021, as well as three similar images and a video depicting a child performing sexual activity that were uploaded to Snapchat in October 2023, according to the affidavit.
Investigators traced the accounts to Henney and executed a search warrant on Tuesday at his residence, where they found child sexual abuse material on his laptop, police wrote.
Henney allegedly admitted to police that he possessed and disseminated child pornography, and had last viewed it a month ago. He said the images reminded him of when he was abused as a child, according to the affidavit.
He is charged with 17 felony counts related to child sexual abuse material and six felony counts of criminal use of a communication facility.
Henney was arraigned on Tuesday afternoon by District Judge Kelley Gillette-Walker, who denied bail, noting that he is “under investigation for other related offenses” and on bail for a similar offense. According to court records, he is separately awaiting trial for a misdemeanor corruption of minors charge filed in 2024.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 17.
