State police on Wednesday arrested a Centre County man accused of uploading photographs of nude children to an internet image search engine.

Cody L. Emel, 37, of Snow Shoe, is charged with 12 felony counts related to child sexual abuse material and two felony counts of criminal use of a communication facility.

Microsoft reported to the Center for Missing and Exploited Children that a user uploaded to Bing Images a photo of a child between the ages of eight and 12 with his genitals exposed in April 2024 and another of a juvenile with his genitals partially exposed that May, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

Both images were traced to the same IP address for a subscriber in Snow Shoe, police wrote.

The state police Computer Crime Unit on Wednesday executed a search warrant at the residence and found multiple images of nude juveniles on a computer in Emel’s bedroom, according to the affidavit.

Emel acknowledged the computer belonged to him but denied having any child sexual abuse material.

He was arraigned before District Judge Steven Lachman, who set unsecured bail at $25,000.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 17.
