A central Pennsylvania woman was arrested Tuesday in Centre County for her alleged role in what police called “a sophisticated criminal enterprise” selling dozens of pounds of methamphetamine.

Joanne L. Shaw, 37, of Warriors Mark, is accused of selling multiple pounds of meth each month between January and September 2024 in Blair, Centre and Huntingdon counties, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Spring Township police and the state Attorney General’s Office Bureau of Narcotics Investigation.

Shaw conspired with one person who was named in the complaint but has not yet been charged and others in the operation, according to the affidavit.

She used a cell phone and multiple financial applications, including CashApp, to facilitate the sales, investigators wrote.

Shaw was taken into custody as a result of investigations by a statewide grand jury and by the Attorney General’s Office, Spring Township police, state police and the Centre County and Huntingdon County drug task forces, Spring Township police wrote in a Facebook post.

A grand jury presentment detailing the case, including witness testimony and physical evidence, was referenced in the affidavit but has not been made available.

Shaw is charged with 15 felony counts, including possession with intent to deliver, participating in a corrupt organization, dealing in proceeds from unlawful activities and criminal use of a communication facility.

She was arraigned on Tuesday by District Judge Kelley Gillette-Walker, who denied bail. Shaw had been out on $250,000 bail since January for drug charges in Huntingdon County, according to court records.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 30.
