Penn State Police reported Wednesday they are investigating two racially motivated criminal mischief incidents in Brumbaugh and Shunk halls on campus.
The incident in Brumbaugh Hall occurred sometime between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Jan. 28 when a racially motivated message was spray painted in a stairwell, police said, and the incident in Shunk Hall occurred sometime between 8 p.m. Jan. 28 and 12:15 a.m. Jan. 29 when a permanent marker was used to write a racially motivated message on a bulletin board.
Police did not say what the racially motivated slurs said.
Anyone with information should contact Penn State Police at 814-863-1111 or Centre County Crime Stoppers online. Anonymous tips can be submitted via ‘Silent Witness.’ Individuals providing information that leads to an arrest may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000 from Centre County CrimeStoppers, according to police.
