State College police are investigating after a 35-year-old woman died of a gunshot wound in Boalsburg.
Officers responded to the 900 block of Boal Avenue at 5 a.m. on Tuesday and arrived to find the woman dead, according to law enforcement and the Centre County Coroner’s Office.
Police said in a statement that there is no threat to the public and “an active investigation into an attended death” is ongoing. No criminal charges have been filed as of 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
The coroner’s office and State College police declined further comment.
“As this is an active investigation, no further information is available currently,” according to the statement.
An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday morning.
The Centre County District Attorney’s Office and Pennsylvania State Police are assisting in the investigation.
