The First National Bank branch at 460 Westerly Parkway was robbed about 9:10 a.m. today, State College police said.
They’re looking for a suspect. He is described as a white male standing about five feet 10 inches tall.
The man has a medium build, weighs between 180 and 200 pounds, and had two to three days’ facial-hair growth, according to the police description.
Police said he was wearing a dark-colored hat, mirrored sunglasses, a polo-style shirt with chest emblems, and shorts.
The suspect fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to a police report. Police did not say if he was carrying a weapon.
About an hour after he left, officers including a canine unit surrounded the building with police tape and began conducting interviews with bank employees. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
Meanwhile, the police department has released several security-camera images from the bank; they are posted to the right of this article. Anyone who can identify the man in those images, and anyone who has other information about the case, is asked to call the borough police at (814) 234-7150 or send an anonymous tip through the borough website.
The bank branch office is expected to be closed for the remainder of the day, though the ATM there should be up and running, police said.
