A College Township man was charged after police say he became upset with his ex-girlfriend for not speaking with him and kicked in her front door.
State College Police responded at about 11 p.m. on Tuesday to a report of criminal trespass at a Dreibelbis Street residence. According to the criminal complaint, a woman who lived there said that her ex-boyfriend, James Boseman, had broken open her door, which had been locked with a deadbolt.
Boseman allegedly came to the residence to confront her about their break-up and when she did not allow him inside, he stood on the porch banging on the door for 20 to 30 minutes. He reportedly said he wouldn’t leave until she spoke with him or called the police.
He then allegedly kicked in the locked door and entered the residence. The woman told police that she was scared and ran to the second floor, where she and a roommate locked themselves in a bedroom. Police say Boseman followed her and began banging on the bedroom door, and that he fled when she called police.
According to the complaint, police interviewed Boseman who said he was upset the woman refused to speak to him and allegedly admitted that he kicked in the door in an effort to speak with her.
Boseman was charged with felony criminal trespass, misdemeanor disorderly conduct and misdemeanor criminal mischief.
He was arraigned Wednesday morning before District Judge Allen Sinclair, with bail set at $10,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 15.
