Replica Joe Paterno Statues in the Works by Original Sculptors

It has been nearly four years since we last saw the Joe Paterno statue standing outside Beaver Stadium, but that is about to change.

According to WGAL, Yesid Gomez and Wilfer Buitrago, the two original sculptors of the Joe Paterno statue, are currently sculpting two new replicas of the original statue.

The project is reportedly underway at “a secret location” in Ephrata, Pennsylvania.

The statues will be made of bronze, just like the original, and cost around $50,000 each. The artists plan on donating one statue to the Paterno family, while the other will reportedly travel from Beaver Stadium to different museums and locations.

Since its removal on July 22, 2012, the artists and Penn Staters everywhere have inquired to the university about its whereabouts and condition, but the university has refused to comment on either, prompting many “unique” conspiracy theories about the Joe Pa statue.

Penn State and the Paterno family have yet to comment on the creation of the new statues.
