A published report says seven men who were abused by Jerry Sandusky have finalized settlement deals with Penn State. One of those victims is reportedly Matt Sandusky — Jerry Sandusky’s adopted son.

According to the Associated Press another of those reaching settlements is Victim 2. The AP says Victim 2 was the boy former assistant football coach Mike McQueary said he saw being attacked by Jerry Sandusky in a campus shower in 2001.

Philadelphia attorney Matt Casey said the terms of the settlements came together some time ago, but it wasn’t until the past week that all the details were worked out. Casey did not reveal any of the terms, including how much money was paid.

Penn State has approved spending up to $60 million to settle cases with Sandusky’s victims.

The AP quotes Casey as saying, “To say they’re relieved, I think, is a fair statement … But it’s also accurate to say that while we’ve closed this chapter, there’s a whole lot of this that’s necessarily inadequate.”

Last weekend, a report by PennLive.com quoted sources familiar with the process, as saying attorneys representing the university have been forwarding “final monetary settlement documents” to more than two dozen men.

A statement released by the university on July 12 said officials hoped to have the matter concluded within “several weeks.”

University spokesperson David La Torre would not confirm details of any settlement deals. He tells StateCollege.com, “We’re making progress but don’t have any further comment at this time.”

Jerry Sandusky was convicted on 45 counts of child sex abuse last summer. He is serving 30 to 60 years in prison. Sandusky is appealing his conviction and a hearing will be held in September.
