Update: 6:30 p.m., Park Avenue has been reopened to traffic.
Traffic trouble could be in the cards for drivers in the College Heights section of State College tonight.
A section of Park Ave., from Allen to Atherton, has been shut down. Crews from Columbia Gas are digging up the street. A Columbia gas spokesperson did not immediately explain what’s going on.
Park Ave. runs along the northern edge of the Penn State campus and is a heavily traveled road, especially during rush hour.
State College Police have not released any information on the traffic detours.
This is not the only potential traffic headache. PennDot is warning drivers about possible delays on nearby University Drive. Crews are repairing the decking on the bridge that spans E. College Ave.
