The Saturday video profile series offers a glimpse into the lives of people from State College and at Penn State.
This week, Laura Nichols talked to Laura March and Stuart Shapiro, the duo who organized the first Blue Out with only a few days to spare last November.
When Penn State takes on Temple on Saturday, Beaver Stadium will be cloaked in blue to honor victims of childhood sexual abuse. All proceeds go toward the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape.
This mark’s the pair’s second effort to raise awareness of and funds for the prevention of childhood sexual abuse.
Here, March and Shapiro detail their inspiration for the Blue Out, as well as the process it took to organize and execute the community-wide effort.
