After organizers of the Karoondinha Music and Arts Festival planned for July 20-23 at Penn’s Cave in Centre Hall announced this week the event would not be happening as scheduled, two other music festivals have now offered to honor tickets purchased for Karoondinha
On Wednesday, Deep Roots Mountain Revival, scheduled for July 20-22 in West Virginia, said it would honor Karoondinha tickets and on Thursday WayHome Music and Arts Festival, slated for July 28-30 in Oro-Medonte, Ontario, Canada said it will do the same.
That festival takes place north of Toronto and about six hours from State College. It features acts including Flume, Imagine Dragons, Frank Ocean, Cage the Elephant, The Shins and ScHoolboy Q.
Wayhome also has offered ticket-holders for the canceled Fyre and Pemberton festivals the ability to redeem their tickets.
“This has been a challenging year for a number of festivals and we wanted to extend an invite to Karoondinha ticket holders to join us at WayHome” Republic Live Co-Founder Eva Dunford said.
Karoondinha Festival ticket holders can redeem their purchased tickets for a 2017 WayHome General Admission Full Weekend Admission Pass by sending a copy of their Karoondinha Festival ticket confirmation to ticketing@republiclive.com using subject, “Karoondinha Ticket Offer.”
The offer is open until July 14 and the festival will authenticate all requests. Tickets will be redeemed on a one for one basis and do not include camping, parking or VIP offers.
While Karoondinha organizers said they intend to reschedule for a date to be determined, the festival’s website was updated Thursday with information about refunds.
‘For those who had purchased tickets, we are working closely with Eventbrite, Karoondinha’s official ticket provider to finalize next steps for processing refunds and will send you an update with details by the end of the week. If you purchased from Groupon, Jus College or any other 3rd party outlets, please reach out to the point of purchase for information on your refund.’
JusCollege, a travel planning company, has already said it would provide automatic refunds to those who purchased Karoondinha tickets through them.
