Denny’s restaurant, 1860 N. Atherton St., has closed.
The casual dining restaurant had been at the State College location for decades, but on Thursday morning patrons found it had been shuttered. The restaurant was unable to renew its franchise license.
‘We would like to thank you for the many years of valued patronage at our restaurant,’ a sign on the front door of the formerly 24-hour eatery said. ‘Our franchisee license with Denny’s expired and was not available for renewal and thus we are regretfully closing our doors.
‘We thank you again for all your support throughout the years.’
