Here they come again! With Penn State’s commencement ceremonies set for the first weekend in May we’re expecting a plethora of parents and friends to descend on Happy Valley. Anticipating big crowds, State College Borough is easing up on parking restrictions downtown.
The no parking from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. restriction will be lifted from 2 a.m. Friday, May 3 until Monday at 2 a.m.
The one and two hour restriction will also be lifted beginning Friday at noon, so visitors can enjoy extended parking at those locations.
All other parking ordinances, including the no parking anytime areas, will be strictly enforced. That means:
– No Parking on the Sidewalk
– No Parking within an Intersection
– No Parking on a Crosswalk
– No Parking within 20 feet of a Crosswalk at an Intersection
– No Parking within 30 feet of a Stop Sign
– No Parking over 12 inches from the Curb
– No Parking against Traffic
– No Parking in Front of a Driveway
Violators may be ticketed and/or towed. Be aware that parking meters on the streets are enforced from 8 am until 6 pm and in the parking lots from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.
