A man died and a woman was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash earlier this month in Potter Township, state police at Rockview wrote in a report released on Tuesday.
Corey A. Fike, 25, of State College, was pronounced dead on the morning of Aug. 12, shortly after being transported by Penns Valley EMS to Mount Nittany Medical Center following the crash.
Fike was driving a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee at 3:50 a.m. on Route 45 near the Tusseyville Road intersection when he went off the road and struck a utility pole, according to the crash report. The vehicle rolled over multiple times before coming to rest.
Both Fike and his passenger, a 20-year-old Pleasant Gap woman, were ejected from the Jeep. The woman sustained serious injuries and was flown to UPMC Williamsport for treatment, police wrote.
Fike and the woman had married three days prior to the crash, according to a post on his Facebook page and marriage license records.
