An unknown male attempted to assault a college-aged woman Monday night in State College, according to police.
The female reported that she was walking alone between 10 and 11 p.m. on the 200 block of West Foster Avenue when she was approached by a college-aged male walking in the opposite direction. Police said that as the male walked past her he grabbed her arms and pushed her toward bushes along the sidewalk.
He held the female’s hands behind her back with one hand while he attempted to remove her pants with the other, police said. The woman was able to defend herself and escape, fleeing the area to contact police.
The suspect is described as a white male who is approximately 19 or 20 years old. He has short, curly, dark hair with no facial hair, a very thin build and is approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was described as wearing a dark colored t-shirt, jeans and boots.
