A winter storm watch will be in effect for the State College area from late Monday night through Wednesday afternoon, according to AccuWeather.com.
Issued by the National Weather Service, the watch announcement indicates that snow will materialize late Monday before switching over to sleet and freezing rain on Tuesday. Several inches of snow may fall before the precipitation becomes more fluid, the announcement suggests.
Roads may become icy or snow-covered, and power outages are possible, too, according to the announcement.
