A series of 15-minute traffic stoppages on Shiloh Road in College Township will impact motorists traveling in the area over the next week, according to PennDOT and the township.
The stoppages, which will begin Wednesday afternoon, will be implemented near the intersection with Trout Road for the contractor on a Home2 Suites by Hilton hotel development to complete excavation.
Each stoppage will occur from 1:30 to 1:45 p.m. on the following days:
- Wednesday, Oct. 22
- Friday, Oct. 24
- Tuesday, Oct. 28
- Wednesday, Oct. 29
- Thursday, Oct. 30
- Friday, Oct. 31
The stoppages have the potential to create traffic backups at the Interstate 99 on-off ramps for the Shiloh Road interchange.
“If queuing occurs, traffic at the northbound off-ramp will be directed back onto I-99 and continue northbound for two miles to exit 78A/150 South,” PennDOT wrote in a news release on Wednesday. “Traffic at the southbound off-ramp will also be directed back onto I-99 northbound via the ramp. Drivers familiar with the area may choose alternate routes if they wish.”
While the stoppages are not associated with a PennDOT project, they are intended to “ensure the safety of the traveling public,” according to the department.
Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
