Get your umbrellas and rain boots out of the closet – it’s going to be a wet one.
AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dave Dombek says Tuesday “looks like a pretty wet day.”
“By far, [Tuesday] is the worst day weather wise of the last five,” Dombek says.
There will be periods of rain and possibly some thunderstorms throughout the day, with some rain expected to be heavy. In fact, he predicts the rain could be heavy enough to cause flooding in poor drainage areas.
Dombek says there is the potential for a downpour at any time into the early evening Tuesday.
“It could be hard to pinpoint exactly when,” Dombek says. “It won’t rain continuously for 12 hours [Tuesday], but when it does rain, there is potential that it does come down pretty hard.”
The weather will be cooler-than-average for the second week of August. The forecast calls for a high temperature of 71 degrees on Tuesday.
It will get even cooler at night Tuesday, with the temperature expected to drop to 63 degrees. It should be mostly cloudy in the evening.
The weather will begin to dry out on Wednesday.
“There still could be a brief shower, although a much less wet day than Tuesday,” Dombek says. “It will be a breezy, cool day with a high of 71.”
It will continue to be cool later in the week, but it will be mostly dry Thursday and Friday.
Finally, the weather will warm up in time for the weekend. Sunshine is expected both days, with a high of 76 on Saturday and 79 on Sunday, Dombek says.
