State College football is off to a strong start as it prepares for its Friday night game at 3-1 Chambersburg.
The Little Lions’ success stems from plenty of reps in practice, but there’s also another source of their strong bond on the field.
State High Coach Matt Lintal said while his team has done well on the field, they’re close off the field, and there’s an ethical code that holds them together.
‘We talk bout ‘stand together, achieve through effort.’ That’s kind of our mantra…,’ Lintal said. ‘it means more than just coming out to the football field ready to play. It’s about how you conduct yourself in the classroom, in the hallways, socially downtown on a Friday night. It’s about doing the right thing anywhere and everywhere you are.’
