The series is far from over.
Three games have been played, each victory taken by the home team with a lead of a single goal. At least two more games will played (at least three if the Flyers have their way), and State College has several great ways to watch the game.
Whether you bleed orange and black or root for the Blackhawks (even if you’re a spurned Penguins fan), a key part of being a hockey fan is looking like one.
- Rapid Transit Sports, 115 S. Allen St., carries a collection of official NHL hats and shirts for the fan who wants to look the part.
- For a more diverse hockey wardrobe, retro T-shirts are available at People’s Nation, 126 E. College Ave.
Next, a good hockey fan needs a good viewing experience.
- For a downtown location, Bill Pickle’s Tap Room, 106 S. Allen St., is a popular watering hole for sports fans. ‘It’s a very hot spot for people to come, it almost doesn’t matter what season it is,’ said bartender Kathy Staab.
- There’s no chance of missing the game at Champs Sports Grill, 1611 N. Atherton St., which has a collection of massive TVs on all walls and over the bar.
Of course, sometimes one’s own living room or bedroom makes for the best place to watch the big game. For those staying in, check out the StateCollege.com Dining Guide and order some food for delivery.
