Spring may be just around the corner, but wintry weather isn’t over yet in central Pennsylvania.
With snow in the forecast, the National Weather Service at State College has issued a winter weather advisory from 6 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday.
NWS forecasts 2 to 4 inches of snow, with lower amounts in the valleys and higher accumulations at higher elevations — though the heaviest snow will occur in a narrow band that could shift depending on the track of the storm system. AccuWeather anticipates 1 to 3 inches of snow for the State College area.
Precipitation is expected to start as rain before mixing with and changing over to a wet snow. The changeover will occur first on the ridges then move into the valleys, according to NWS, and the heaviest snowfall is expected from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.
AccuWeather forecasts snow beginning at 8 p.m. and ending around 4 a.m. in the State College area.
