With a bit more late-season snow in the forecast, the National Weather Service at State College has issued a winter weather advisory for Centre County beginning Friday morning.
The advisory is in effect from 7 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday, with 2 to 5 inches of snow anticipated. Lower amounts are expected in the valleys, with higher accumulations on the ridges, according to NWS.
AccuWeather forecasts 1 to 3 inches of snow for much of the county, including the State College area. Slightly higher totals of 2 to 4 inches are predicted for the Philipsburg area.
Drivers should expect slippery road conditions that could impact the morning and evening commutes. Snow will be heaviest in the afternoon and evening, according to NWS.
A brief changeover to rain is possible and could reduce snow totals.
