The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory from 6 p.m. Thursday through 4 a.m. Friday for portions of central Pennsylvania including southern Centre County.
The State College area is expected to see 2 to 3 inches of snow, according to NWS. AccuWeather forecasts 1 to 3 inches of accumulation through Friday morning.
Slippery road conditions could impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes, according to the advisory.
Snow is expected from southwestern through northeastern Pennsylvania, with 4 to 6 inches forecast along the Pennsylvania Turnpike from Somerset to Carlisle. Elsewhere, locations south of Interstate 80 can generally expect 2 to 4 inches while north of I-80 will get 1 to 2 inches.
After the snow tapers off on Friday, the Centre Region will experience colder temperatures throughout the day, with a high of 25 degrees and a RealFeel of 9, according to AccuWeather.
After a sunny day on Saturday with a high of 32, AccuWeather forecasts sleet and freezing rain for Sunday morning with a tenth to a quarter inch of ice accumulation that can make for dangerous travel conditions before changing over to rain in the afternoon.
