Another Penn State player is set to enter the transfer portal. Kachi Nzeh, a 6-foot-8 and 225-pound center who transferred from Xavier last offseason, has become the fourth Nittany Lion to enter the portal this cycle, On3’s Jamie Shaw reported on Friday.
Nzeh averaged 2.6 points and 2.2 rebounds across 29 total game appearances and two starts in his lone season at Penn State.
With Nzeh on the way out, Mike Rhoades’ third-year roster currently sits at eight players. A trio of that crew — Kayden Mingo, Mason Blackwood and Justin Houser — are incoming freshmen who will join the program in June.
Nzeh joins Jahvin Carter, Miles Goodman and Hudson Ward as the fourth Penn State player to go portalling this year. That’s a significant loss of young talent for a team that bid farewell to five seniors who ran out of collegiate eligibility.
Rhoades has added just one transfer to supplement his losses, earning a commitment from former Cincinnati guard Josh Reed on Tuesday.
