Penn State men’s basketball added another veteran to its portal haul on Sunday morning.

After two seasons playing at Buffalo, forward Timothy Oboh committed to transfer to the Nittany Lions, he announced on Instagram. Oboh is listed at 6-foot-8, 230 pounds and played center for the Bulls.

Oboh stepped into a starting role midway through the 2024-25 season, when he averaged 3.9 points and 2.3 rebounds per game as a true freshman. Last season, he started in all 32 games and increased his production, averaging 8.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game. Buffalo finished that season 17-15.

The London, England, native arrives with two seasons of eligibility remaining and adds much needed depth at forward. He’ll likely join returning Nittany Lion Ivan Jurić and Miami (Ohio) transfer Brant Byers in Penn State’s starting frontcourt.

Oboh is the team’s fourth transfer portal addition of the offseason, with others likely still to come. When accounting for returning players, commitments and transfers, the Nittany Lions have 11 of 15 roster spots filled for next season
