Penn State may be without some contributors on the defensive side of the ball against USC.

The Nittany Lions listed linebacker Alex Tatsch and defensive tackle Armstrong Nnodim as questionable on their initial availability report released Wednesday night. While neither player has started this season, they’ve both seen time in rotational roles.

Additionally for Penn State, wide receiver Koby Howard, defensive ends Max Granville, LaVar Arrington II, Mason Robinson and Dayshaun Burnett, cornerbacks Joshua Johnson, Christian Askew and Tyler Armstead, linebacker Cam Smith, offensive lineman Will Tompkins, tight end Cooper Alexander and kicker Cristiano Rosa all remain out.

Center Brock Riker was notably not included on the report, though head coach Matt Campbell said earlier in the day he was playing through injury the past couple weeks. He was replaced by backup Vaea Ikakoula in the fourth quarter against Northwestern last week.

The Trojans will be without wide receiver Corey Simms, safety Kendarius Reddick, linebacker Roman Marchetti and offensive lineman Kilian O’Connor. Defensive tackles Jahkeem Stewart and Jide Abasiri, wide receivers Trent Mosley and Terrell Anderson, tight end Mark Bowman and offensive lineman Hayden Treter are considered questionable. Bowman and Abasiri are starters for USC.

Updated availability reports will be released on Thursday and Friday night, as well as 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, two hours before kickoff.
