It’s official. Penn State football’s consequential regular season contest against No. 4 Ohio State will kickoff at noon EDT on Nov. 2 at Beaver Stadium, the Big Ten announced on Monday. The game will be broadcast on FOX and will serve as the network’s Big Noon Kickoff.
The early kickoff doesn’t come as much of a surprise, considering Game 7 of the World Series between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers holds the priority prime time slot on FOX, if the series gets to that point.
The Nittany Lions are currently ranked No. 3 in the AP Top 25 poll and are one of three Big Ten teams with an undefeated record at the midway point of the 2024 season.
Oregon, currently ranked No. 1 nationally, completed a 32-31 win over the Buckeyes on Oct. 12. With one loss already, Ohio State likely must beat Penn State if it aims to compete for a Big Ten title and ultimately a College Football Playoff appearance.
The same goes for the Nittany Lions, who haven’t beaten the Buckeyes since 2016. If Penn State beats Ohio State, the lane for a conference championship and playoff bid would be as clear as ever — that is, if the Nittany Lions defeat Wisconsin this upcoming Saturday.
Before traveling to State College, Ohio State hosts Nebraska at noon this Saturday.
