Penn State took another loss to Wisconsin.

The Nittany Lions suffered another costly blow on Sunday afternoon when three-star linebacker Blake Betton flipped his commitment, bypassing Penn State to pledge his future to the Badgers. The move follows an on-field loss after Wisconsin overcame a 17-0 deficit to defeat the Nittany Lions 24-20 earlier in the season.

While Betton wasn’t in attendance for that loss, he did take an unofficial visit to campus on Oct. 10 for the White Out against USC, which resulted in a 31-23 Nittany Lion defeat. Penn State has dropped four straight games to open Big Ten play and currently sits at 3-4 overall to kick off the Matt Campbell era, potentially influencing the decision.

Betton is ranked as a high three-star recruit and the No. 4 Minnesota native, No. 35 linebacker and No. 468 overall player in the class, per the 247Sports composite rankings. With his flip, the Nittany Lions are back down to 21 members in their 2027 class with early national signing day approaching.
