Time to mark the calendars.

After much anticipation, Penn State announced its annual Blue-White Weekend will take place on April 25, though no further information was provided. A social media post from the football program state more details will follow.

Head coach Matt Campbell confirmed earlier this month the team would “certainly do something” this spring, though he declined to share any more details. It’s unclear whether the Nittany Lions plan to host a traditional scrimmage like years past or take a different approach, as other schools across the country have become increasingly creative with their spring events.

During his final year at Iowa State in 2025, Campbell was reportedly “leaning towards no spring game,” but the Cyclones eventually held one. Texas, USC, Nebraska, Ohio State, Michigan State, Florida State and Missouri all canceled spring games last year, citing worries about opponents scouting their team for future matchups or to poach players in the spring transfer portal window, which has since been eliminated.

Campbell previously stated the spring game “will base a lot on our health of where we’re at at that point.”
