A former Penn State star is headed to his third NFL team.
Wide receiver Jahan Dotson has signed with the Atlanta Falcons on a two-year, $15 million deal, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. He’s set to make $10 million in guaranteed money.
Dotson was drafted No. 16 overall in 2022 by the Washington Commanders, where he spent his first two seasons. He produced a solid rookie season, totaling 35 receptions for 523 yards and seven touchdowns, but an injury sidelined him for five games. In 2023, Dotson caught 49 passes for 518 yards and four touchdowns, before he was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Working behind A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, Dotson totaled 37 receptions for 478 yards and one touchdown across the last two seasons. During his first year with the Eagles, Dotson became a Super Bowl champion, recording two receptions for 42 yards in a win over the Kansas City Chiefs. However, when Dotson’s rookie contract expired this offseason, he became a free agent.
While at Penn State from 2018 to 2021, Dotson accumulated 183 catches, 2,757 yards and 25 touchdowns, including a special senior season with a career-best 1,182 yards and 12 scores. He ranks second in program history for career receptions, third in career receiving touchdowns and fourth in career receiving yards, and his 241 yards against Maryland in 2021 set the single-game program record. He also holds the program record for longest punt return, housing an 81-yarder against Michigan State as a senior.
