As Beaver Stadium gets ready to host Penn State hockey games for the first time, the public will have the opportunity to enjoy the ice.
The rink installed on the field at the stadium will host four ice skating sessions next week, but you’ll need to register soon if you want reserve a spot.
Sessions will be held:
• Wednesday, Jan. 28, from 12:30 to 1:20 p.m.
• Friday, Jan. 30, from 7:45 to 8:45 p.m.
• Saturday, Jan. 31, from 8:15 to 9:15 p.m.
• Sunday, Feb. 1, from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m.
Each session currently has a capacity of 250 people and the Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 sessions were already fully booked within about three hours of Penn State announcing the opportunity on Friday. Register here.
The Penn State women’s hockey team will host Robert Morris at 1 p.m. on Jan. 30 at Beaver Stadium and the Nittany Lion men’s team will face Michigan State at 1 p.m. Saturday at the stadium.
Jan. 30-Feb. 1 will be what Penn State has dubbed “Winter Sports Weekend,” with a busy slate of Nittany Lion athletic events. The university is offering two- and three-game ticket package deals for the men’s hockey game on Saturday, Friday night wrestling against Nebraska and Sunday’s men’s basketball game against Minnesota.
Admission to women’s hockey games at Pegula Ice Arena and Beaver Stadium, track and field, swimming and diving, men’s gymnastics, men’s volleyball, men’s lacrosse and men’s tennis is free.
