DES MOINES, Iowa. – Just over 24 hours before the Nittany Lions’ first round meeting against Texas A&M in the NCAA Tournament, Penn State took the court at the Wells Fargo Arena for a brief shoot around and practice session before heading back to the hotel. It will be a long day for the Nittany Lions, who will watch a seemingly endless docket of games unfold before finally hitting the court for an 8:55 central tip, which could end up being even later.
Then again, for a program that waited 12 years between NCAA Tournament appearances, what’s a few more hours? In any case as the Nittany Lions looked to stay sharp ahead of Thursday’s game, they wore quite a collection of sneakers, highlighted by center Michael Henn’s Uno inspired kicks.
