Penn State Athletics officially opened the Greenberg Indoor Sports Complex to its more than 800 student athletes on Monday after completing a $31.9 million renovation.
The project, which was approved the the university’s Board of Trustees in 2023, created 38,000 square feet of renovated and new space for a Performance Dining Center and a Wellness and Recovery Center. The new spaces in what was formerly an ice rink facility are adjacent to the Morgan Academic Center, which opened in 2016.
Located on the upper level, the Performance Dining Center has a a full-service commercial kitchen that provides tailored training table meals for Penn State’s 31 sports teams.


The dining center a large communal gathering area and a sports lounge, as well as quiet study areas and small team meeting rooms.
On the lower level, the wellness center is a comprehensive athletics medicine and recovery suite, housing prehabilitation, rehabilitation and recovery areas.
It features a hydrotherapy pool, red light beds, dry float beds, hyberbaric chamber, massage chairs and therapy, saunas and zero gravity chairs.
