With the period for filing nomination petitions concluding on Tuesday, the Centre County Office of Elections has released the unofficial list of candidates for the 2023 primary election, and 23 candidates are running for seats on the governing boards of the six Centre Region municipalities.

March 14 is the last day for the filing of objections to nomination petitions and March 22 is the deadline for candidates to withdraw from appearing on the ballot.

Barring any changes resulting from those deadlines, here’s a look at who has filed to run for the councils and boards in the six Centre Region municipalities — State College Borough and College, Ferguson, Halfmoon, Harris and Patton townships.

Primary Election Day is May 16. The last day to register to vote before the primary is May 1 and the last day to apply for mail-in or civilian absentee ballots is May 9.

The 2023 General Election is Nov. 7.
