Ahead of the upcoming election, candidates for Pennsylvania governor and U.S. Senate visited State College this week to raise awareness for their respective campaigns.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano held his “Restore Freedom” Tour at C3 Sports in State College Tuesday.

Before the rally started, videos and upbeat music played while an older couple danced for the crowd.

Speakers at Mastriano’s rally included state Rep. Stephanie Borowicz, R-McElhattan, far-right political commentator Jack Posobiec, and Mastriano’s wife, Rebbie. They, along with Mastriano, urged those in attendance to vote on Election Day.

People of all ages were in attendance.

On Wednesday, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Josh Shapiro and U.S. Senate candidate John Fetterman held a “Rally in the Valley” event in front of Old Main on the Penn State campus.

Fetterman’s campaign shouted out Phillies fans, as many attendees were dressed in Phillies gear.

The crowd gathered in support, holding various campaign signs.

In addition to Shapiro and Fetterman, lieutenant governor candidate Austin Davis, State College Mayor Ezra Nanes and local state House candidates Paul Takac and Rep. Scott Conklin were among those who spoke to the crowd.

Fetterman and Shapiro spoke to the crowd with passion, urging them to get out and vote.

Election Day is on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
