State Rep. Paul Takac, D-College Township, will hold a grand opening this week for his 82nd district office in State College.
The event will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at 216 W. Hamilton Ave. Community members will be able to meet with Takac and his staff, share their thoughts about local and state issues, learn about state services and programs with which his office can help.
“Having a place where residents of the community can come and be heard is important,” Takac said in a news release. “This is exactly what we want this newly opened district office to be, and so I look forward to meeting new folks as well as seeing many familiar faces and working to represent their voices and concerns in Harrisburg.”
Takac was sworn in in January after winning election in November to the open 82nd State House District seat. The 82nd district includes State College (partial), Howard, Milesburg, Snow Shoe and Unionville boroughs, and Benner, Boggs, Burnside, College, Curtin, Harris, Howard, Liberty, Marion, Snow Shoe and Union townships.
The 82nd district is one of three representing Centre County in the state House, joining the 77th, which is represented by state Rep. Scott Conklin, D-Rush Township, and the 171st, represented by state Rep. Kerry Benninghoff, R-Bellefonte.
