An upcoming free event will allow community members age 50 and older to explore what the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Penn State has to offer.

OLLI University Park will host an open house on from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 19, at the Outreach Innovation Building, 100 Innovation Drive, State College. Light refreshments, including Penn State Bakery cookies, will be provided during the opportunity to learn about fall courses, social opportunities and more.

Visit the registration page online to RSVP or call (814) 867-4278.

Highlights of the event are scheduled to include:

  • Learning about upcoming interactive fall courses directly from instructors
  • Discovering social events and Special Interest Groups
  • Learning about travel adventures and volunteer opportunities
  • Engaging with current OLLI members to hear first-hand experiences
  • Receiving a free single-session course during the fall semester for attendees who purchase a new OLLI membership

OLLI at Penn State Executive Director Brynn Rousselin said the event is a chance to see how OLLI’s opportunities can enrich lives.

“OLLI is a hidden gem within our community,” Rousselin said. “It’s so much more than courses. It is a welcoming environment, open to all community members aged 50 or better, with special interest groups, social events, travel, volunteerism and more.”
