Three Penn State students will battle for the trivia crown on the NBC show “Capital One College Bowl.”
Levi Showalter, Emma Foley and Ryan Zhang will take on students from Syracuse in the final qualifying round airing at 8 p.m. today (Sept. 16).
The show airs on Friday nights and is hosted by Peyton and Cooper Manning. MSNBC’s Steve Kornacki serves as a sideline reporter, breaking down key numbers behind the matchups.
Showalter is a junior from Millmont, majoring in plant sciences. His favorite trivia categories are biology and religion. Foley is a freshman from Wilmington, Delaware, majoring in wildlife & fisheries science. Her favorite trivia categories include history, literature and pop culture. Finally, Zhang is a junior from Lancaster, majoring in physics and mathematics. His specialties include physics, math, mythology and classical music.
If the trio were to win the competition, they would take home the “Capital One College Bowl” trophy, as well as “life-changing scholarship money,” according to a news release. In order to win that, however, they have to beat the team from Syracuse first.
