Jerry Sandusky Sex Scandal: Report Says More Victims Have Come Forward

Just when you thought that things couldn’t possibly get worse in the worst college football scandal ever, it has. A report claims that victims abused by Jerry Sandusky is more than double what we thought it was.

My Fox Philly reports the number of victims allegedly abused by former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky has more than doubled and grown to 20.

The initial grand jury report cited eight victims that came forward to testify against the once lauded Penn State football coach.

The scandal is now spreading like a wild fire to other proud parts of this institution. Joe Paterno seems not to be immune from the biggest college football scandal ever.

The head coach was supposed to give his weekly press conference which was cancelled by University officials. As the report notes, Paterno is most likely on his way out. That would be the first of many decent steps this University needs to take to get back on track.

It is clear that Paterno knew of Sandusky’s allegations and did not take it to police when he failed to be arrested in 1998 and 2002.

The real monster here is of course Sandusky whose deplorable appetites ran much deeper than we ever expected. Now the question is how many poor victims did Sandusky affect. How many children’s lives were ruined by this evil man?

As the number of victims continues to climb, we have to ask, how many could have been prevented had Joe Paterno or any other University official come forward years ago.

The scandal turns to tragedy and Penn State is forever changed. The tally of victims continues to rise and we can only hold our heads in shame. A fellow human being was allowed to walk freely after being caught in heinous acts. It is a sad day for each and everyone of us indeed.
