Paterno to headline Nittany Lion staff attending celebration of Penn State Athletics event

University Park, Pa. — Joe Paterno will be among the Nittany Lion coaches and staff slated to attend a “Celebrating Penn State Athletics” event in the Harrisburg area on Saturday, June 9.
Veteran Nittany Lion basketball assistant coach Kurt Kanaskie and new women’s basketball assistant coach Maren Walseth also will attend the event. Walseth is returning to her alma mater, having earning first team All-Big Ten honors twice during her stellar Lady Lion career.
Joe Battista, Executive Director of the Nittany Lion Club, and Roger Williams, Executive Director of the Penn State Alumni Association, also will attend, along with the possibility of other coaches.
The event will be held in the Radisson Penn Harris Hotel in Camp Hill. The reception is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the program at 6:30 p.m.
The event is co-sponsored by the Penn State Alumni Association, the Nittany Lion Club and Intercollegiate Athletics.
Admission is $35 for Penn State Alumni Association and Nittany Lion Club members and $45 for non-members. Hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar will be provided. There will be a silent auction and raffle to support Penn State scholarships.
