With the 2022 recruiting cycle now on the books, Penn State added another offensive lineman to its 2023 class in four-star Wyomissing High School tackle Jven Williams on Saturday afternoon. Williams is rated the best prospect in the state for the 2023 class, according to the 247 Network.
“I’m staying home!” Williams said in his Twitter announcement.
Williams selected Penn State over Big Ten foes like Michigan and Michigan State along with Pennsylvania rival Pitt. He’s now the third in-state prospect to commit to Penn State’s Class of 2023, joining defensive back Lamont Payne and tight end Joey Schlaffer.
The tackle comes in at 6-foot-4 and 285 pounds and also competes in shot put and discus at Wyomissing.
Williams is rated the 247Sports’ top prospect in the state of Pennsylvania and also comes in as a top-100 recruit at No. 96 in the site’s composite rankings. Penn State now holds the No. 1 Big Ten ranking this recruiting cycle and a No. 4 national ranking.
The Reading native is the eighth addition to the Nittany Lions’ 2023 recruiting class, which already features five-star offensive line product Alex Birchmeier along with guard Joshua Miler and tackle Anthony Donkoh.
