Penn State Football: Nittany Lions Up to No. 11 in Latest AP Poll

Penn State football survived yet another chaotic week across the country on Saturday afternoon to the tune of a 33-14 victory over Central Michigan, improving to 4-0 on the year and rising three spots to No. 11 in the latest AP Poll, which was released on Sunday afternoon.

Elsewhere in the Big Ten, the top of the conference took care of business as No. 3 Ohio State pummeled Wisconsin 52-21 while No. 4 Michigan pushed past Maryland 34-27.

Minnesota, which joins the rankings this week at No. 21, defeated Michigan State 34-7, while Penn State’s Week 5 opponent, Northwestern, came up short against Miami (Ohio) in a low scoring 17-14 affair.

Outside of the Big Ten, both No. 1 Georgia and No. 2 Alabama remain undefeated following wins while No. 5 Clemson survived in overtime against Wake Forest and No. 6 USC won late against Oregon State.

Oklahoma was the only top 10 team to lose on Saturday despite some close games elsewhere, falling to No. 18 after a 41-34 loss to Kansas State.

Former Penn State quarterback Will Levis and Kentucky rose to No. 7 after a 31-23 win over Northern Illinois. Tennessee and NC State moved into the top 10 at No. 8 and 10, respectively and Oklahoma State held serve at No. 9.
