Penn State men’s basketball has added its home contest against Minnesota back to the schedule.
The Nittany Lions will welcome the Golden Gophers to the Bryce Jordan Center at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, as announced Saturday morning. The two Big Ten squads were originally set to face off on Jan. 19, but that game was postponed because of positive COVID-19 tests within Minnesota’s program.
Penn State and Minnesota are both battling toward the bottom of the Big Ten at the moment. Following the COVID postponement, the Golden Gophers took down Rutgers by three points, but fell to Ohio State 75-64 this past Thursday. Ben Johnson’s squad boasts an 11-6 overall record but sits at 2-6 in conference play.
Following a recent downward slide, the Nittany Lions now sit an 8-9 this season with a 3-6 mark in the Big Ten. After ripping off three wins in four games, Micah Shrewsberry’s team has dropped its last three contests, most recently a brutal 74-57 loss to Indiana at Assembly Hall.
Now with Minnesota back on the schedule, Penn State has 11 Big Ten games left on the slate before the conference tournament kicks off in March. Next, the Nittany Lions host Iowa at 7 p.m. on Monday night at the BJC.
