Penn State senior guard Tim Frazier was named to the preseason All-Big Ten Team Thursday morning by conference media at Big Ten Media Day in Chicago.
Frazier was joined on the Preseason All-Big Ten Team by Preseason Player of the Year Cody Zeller (Indiana), Trey Burke (Michigan), Aaron Craft (Ohio State) and Deshaun Thomas (Ohio State).
Frazier earned first-team All-Big Ten selection by the media last season, and is the only returning member of that team this season. Frazier was also named to the All-Big Ten Defensive Team last year and finished second in the conference with 2.4 steals per game.
Frazier returns as the Big Ten conference leader in scoring and assists after leading the Big Ten with 6.2 assists and finishing second with 18.8 points per game last year.
Frazier was the only player in NCAA Division I to average at least 17 points and six assists last season and led the nation accounting for 58.4 percent of the Nittany Lion offense. He set a Penn State season record with 198 assists and ranked 14th in the nation in assists.
Penn State will take the floor Nov. 3 for an exhibition matchup vs. Philadelphia University (4 p.m.). The season officially begins Nov. 9 with a 7 p.m. tip vs. Saint Francis in the Bryce Jordan Center.
