The Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts will mostly be a virtual affair once again this year, but the annual State College summer event will present live, in-person musical performances.
Ten concerts are scheduled from July 8-10 at State College Presbyterian Church, 132 W. Beaver Ave, the festival announced on Thursday. A poetry reading will be held on July 10 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 208 W. Foster Ave., and one other musical performance will be live-streamed only.
“We’re excited to have performers in front of live audiences once again,” festival director Rick Bryant said in a statement. “We’re not quite back at business as usual, but this is a step in the right direction. We’re looking forward to producing First Night State College in its traditional form on December 31.”
Admission for ages 12 and older requires a $10 wristband (instead of the traditional festival button), which is good for all three days and can be purchased at the door or in advance at the festival office, 403 S. Allen St., Suite 205A.
Seating is limited to 250 people on a first-come, first-served basis. Wristbands do not guarantee admission.
Performances also will be streamed live on Facebook and YouTube.

The festival’s annual Sidewalk Sale and Exhibition and juried gallery exhibition, Images, are taking place virtually July 8-11 at arts-festival.com.
