Centre County reported two new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, bringing its total to 16,871. It was the county’s 11th consecutive day with fewer than 10 cases.
Pennsylvania added 488 cases — the eighth straight day with fewer than 1,000 — for statewide total of 1,205,290.
The county reported 56 additional negative test results, bringing its total to 69,837 Across Pennsylvania, there were 6,035 additional negatives for a total of 4,632,895.
Centre County saw a decline in its positivity rate last week, dipping below 2%. For the week of May 28-June 3, the county’s PCR testing positivity rate was 1.8%, down from 3.9% the previous seven days, according to the updated DOH early warning monitoring dashboard.
It was the seventh lowest positivity rate in the state.
Pennsylvania’s statewide positivity rate was 2.9%, down from 3.7% the previous seven days and marking a decline for the seventh consecutive week.
According to the DOH hospital preparedness dashboard, nine COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in Centre County, including one in intensive care and on a ventilator.
Statewide, Pennsylvania has 855 COVID-19 inpatients, a increase of five since Friday, with 243 in intensive care [+43] and 115 on ventilators [-5].
DOH reported no new deaths attributed to the virus among Centre County residents, keeping the county’s total at 224.
With 24 new COVID-19 deaths reported statewide, Pennsylvania’s total is now 27,349.
An estimated 95% of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, according to a health department calculation.
As of Saturday morning, 70,837 people in Centre County are fully vaccinated and 12,180 are partially covered.
Vaccination appointments for ages 12 and older are available through Centre Volunteers in Medicine, Mount Nittany Health and through other pharmacies and providers listed at vaccines.gov. The state-run Regional Vaccination Clinic at the Bryce Jordan Center offers vaccines to individuals 18 and older by appointment or walk-in.
