STATE POLICE AT ROCKVIEW

State police initiated a traffic stop around 10 a.m. on Monday, March 4, along South Eagle Valley Road in Huston Township. According to police, a 39-year-old Pine Grove Mills man and a 38-year-old Port Matilda woman were accused of having drugs and paraphernalia.

State police responded to a report of criminal mischief that occurred between 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, along Penns Valley Road in Gregg Township. According to police, an unknown suspect smashed the window of a vehicle owned by a 73-year-old Spring Mills man, resulting in about $85 worth of damage before fleeing the scene. Police were unable to find the suspect after canvassing the neighborhood and asked anyone with information to contact PSP Rockview Station.

State police were dispatched around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, to East Main Street in Miles Township for a report of slashed tires on a juvenile’s car. According to police, a suspect was detained due to related recent incidents. The investigation is ongoing, police said.

State police responded to a verbal altercation around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, along Church Street in the Port Matilda Borough. According to police, a 49-year-old Port Matilda man hit a 24-year-old Port Matilda man with a door during the altercation. Police did not report any additional details.

State police responded to a single-vehicle crash around 2 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8, at the intersection of Paradise Road and Spring Creek Road in Benner Township. According to police, a 20-year-old Chesterbrook man was driving a 2014 Mazda 3 when he failed to stop at a stop sign and hit a guide rail. The driver of the Mazda 3 was cited for the crash, accused of driving under the influence, police said.

State police responded to a computer crime around 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, along Witmer Avenue in the Centre Hall Borough. According to police, an unknown suspect illegally logged into a Centre Hall woman’s Snapchat account, downloading intimate images from the account. The images were then uploaded to a nude image sharing website, police said. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

State police responded to a crash around 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, near Interstate 99 in Benner Township. According to police, a 21-year-old Pittsburgh man was driving a 2024 Nissan Altima when he approached an intersection at the same time as a 57-year-old Stockholm, New Jersey, man driving a 2017 Ford 300 Series. The driver of the Nissan Altima failed to stop at the intersection and proceeded to not stop at two more posted stop signs before hitting the Ford 300 Series. A passenger in the Ford 300 Series was reported to have minor injuries and the driver of the Nissan Altima was cited for the crash, police said.

State police responded to a report of physical harassment around 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, along Little Marsh Creek Road in Boggs Township. According to police, charges are pending for the incident involving a 49-year-old Howard man and a 38-year-old Howard woman. Police did not report any additional details.

State police responded to a single-vehicle crash around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, along South Eagle Valley Road in Union Township. According to police, a 36-year-old Fleming woman was driving a 2010 Dodge Caravan when she struck a deer that entered the roadway. Police reported no injuries, and no additional details were provided.

State police conducted a traffic stop around 5 a.m. on Sunday, March 17, along Elm Road in Snow Shoe Township. Police said they observed impairment upon speaking to the 38-year-old Winburne man driving the vehicle. Police conducted a standardized field sobriety test and determined the man was under the influence of alcohol. Charges are pending and police did not provide further information.
